Lake Wylie Dog Boarding Agreement: Where Your Pets Are Family

At Lake Wylie Dog Boarding, we are dedicated to creating a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable environment for your furry family members. Whether your dog loves to play, explore, or simply relax, our goal is to make sure they feel right at home during their stay. Your pet’s well-being is always our top priority, and we treat each dog as part of our own family.

Understanding Your Dog’s Experience

We understand that each dog has a unique personality and may adjust to boarding or daycare differently. Some dogs, particularly seniors, may need a little extra time to settle in and could temporarily show changes in behavior, such as reluctance to go to the bathroom or minor house-training regressions. While this isn’t common, it can happen, and we are fully prepared to help your pet through this transition. We encourage you to reach out with any concerns you may have regarding your dog’s adjustment.

Health and Vaccination Requirements

To ensure the health and safety of all our guests, we require that all dogs are up to date on the following vaccinations:

  • Rabies
  • Distemper
  • Bordetella (canine cough)
  • Leptospirosis
  • Parvovirus

The Bordetella vaccine (nasal or oral) is valid for six months, while the injectable version lasts for 12 months. All vaccinations must be administered at least 72 hours prior to your dog’s stay. While not required, we highly recommend the canine influenza vaccine for added protection.

Policies for a Safe and Happy Stay

  1. Arrival and Departure: Please ensure your dog arrives on a leash. Pick-ups and drop-offs must be during regular business hours (holidays excluded).
  2. Young Guests: Puppies must be at least 12 months old to stay with us.
  3. Health and Temperament: If your dog is displaying signs of illness or aggression, we may need to refuse boarding or daycare to ensure the safety and comfort of all our guests.
  4. Spaying and Neutering: All dogs must be spayed or neutered to stay at Lake Wylie Dog Boarding.
  5. Clean and Ready: Dogs must arrive clean and free of ticks or fleas. If necessary, we can provide a bath and flea/tick treatment at your expense.
  6. Personal Items: You are welcome to bring your dog’s favorite blanket, toy, or bed, but please label all items to avoid any mix-ups!

Care During Their Stay

We want your dog to feel comfortable and enjoy their time with us. Here’s how we ensure they’re well taken care of:

  • Meals: Please bring your dog’s food pre-portioned and labeled for their entire stay. If not enough food is provided, we will supply food and charge a small fee.
  • Medications:  If your dog requires medication, we’re happy to assist. Please provide clear instructions, along with any necessary pill packets or peanut butter for easy administration.

Liability and Safety

  1. Illnesses: Even though all dogs are vaccinated, there is still a small risk that they may contract illnesses like kennel cough. We take every precaution, but we      cannot be held responsible if your dog becomes ill.
  2. Injuries During Play: Dogs love to play, and sometimes minor injuries such as scrapes or  scratches may occur, even under careful supervision. By signing this      agreement, you acknowledge that minor injuries are possible and agree not to hold Lake Wylie liable for them.
